Join a Connecticut Cleanup Near You

Calling all beach goers, ocean lovers, and supporters of Save the Sound:

Are you concerned with the state of our environment? Do you want to help do your part to preserve our coastlines?

Sign up today as a volunteer for one of this year’s Connecticut Cleanups! Find your favorite beach in the list below, and we’ll follow up with details about how to connect with your beach’s Cleanup Captain on the day of the event.

The Connecticut Cleanup is part of the International Coastal Cleanup, which takes place each year within the months of September and October. Help your community and the beaches you love by picking up trash and keeping our oceans clean.

This year, Save the Sound is committed to keeping you safe while keeping our rivers and beaches trash-free.

Gloves will be provided at each cleanup site, but participants are required to bring and wear their own masks in order to participate. Anyone not wearing a mask will not be allowed to participate in the cleanup.

**Due to a recent rise in occurrence of the Vibrio vulnificus bacteria in brackish waters, we are asking participants to bandage all wounds (including recent piercings and tattoos), wear closed-toed shoes or sneakers, and stay out of the water during cleanup events.

Please register as early as possible, so that we can keep you up-to-date with any public health guidelines.

If you are not comfortable participating in an in-person cleanup event, register below for our virtual cleanup option!

Contact Annalisa Paltauf at with any questions.

Thanks for signing up to clean your beach!

*By registering for a cleanup below, you are indicating a commitment to participate in that event. Please contact us if you can no longer attend.
