Save the Sound is an International Coastal Cleanup® (ICC)-Coordinator for Connecticut. Please see below for cleanups along the Long Island Sound shoreline as well as inland waterway locations!
The International Coastal Cleanup effort engages people to remove trash from the world’s beaches and waterways. Thanks to millions of volunteers around the world, the ICC has become a beacon of hope, leading and inspiring action in support of our ocean. Since its beginning, more than 19 million volunteers have collected more than 400 million pounds of trash.
In addition to cleaning the beach, Save the Sound can use the data you collect to influence laws that reduce pollution at the source! We’ll be using the Clean Swell app to keep track of the trash we pick up at each cleanup. Download here: iOS or Android. Learn more about our Cleanups & Marine Debris projects here.
Please RSVP for each cleanup you’d like to join as a volunteer. This ensures we have enough supplies for everyone and can keep you informed about any weather-related changes.
