Partnering With the Public

We say it often because it’s true: you make our work possible. As a member, volunteer, activist, and watchdog, a piece of each victory belongs to you.

Membership—the Core Partnership

Members are the very foundation of Save the Sound. Our thousands of members all over Connecticut, New York, and the country each contribute what they can to keep core functions—like the legal and legislative advocacy that safeguard your water, air, and lands—humming and successful.

And members keep us inspired. We love meeting you at member-only events and hearing when you’ve lobbied your senator for an important bill. Become a member now.

Partnering on Advocacy

When every voice lends itself, your legislators hear what is important to you. Our network of committed activists calls and emails legislators, attends hearings, and gathers friends and neighbors into powerful coalitions.

Partnering through Volunteering

Any time you see us in the field, there’s a good chance volunteers are there too! Volunteers make our world a better place one hour at a time by cleaning beaches, collecting water samples as a citizen scientist, helping install rain gardens, manning tables at events, or planting native grasses along our coastline.

Join in the fun today: learn how you can volunteer, and see restoration successes that people like you have made possible!

Watchdogs as Partners

Members of the public can even be important partners just by keeping your eyes and ears open. It could be an overflowing sewer drain in your town, weird colors in your local lake, or someone dumping waste where they shouldn’t—if you see it, you can report it. Reports from citizen watchdogs help us find and stop pollution all around the Sound; learn more about how.

Working together will keep our shared environment clean, healthy, and beautiful for future generations. We’re honored to have you as our partner!
