At Save the Sound, Skyla works closely with the full staff and Board of Directors, focusing on internal operations, communication, governance and cultivating an organizational culture that champions community and science-driven environmental action.
Skyla holds a B.A. in English and Communications from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and an M.A. in Women & Gender Studies from Southern Connecticut State University. Before joining Save the Sound, she began her nonprofit career as Executive Assistant at Clifford Beers Community Health Partners in New Haven and as a Shelter Advocate at the Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence (a BHcare program).
A New Haven resident for over a decade, Skyla grew up in a small Vermont town and still finds peace at her family’s cabin on Lake Bomoseen—her favorite place to kayak and swim. When she’s not advancing Save the Sound’s mission, she’s chasing after her two children, devouring books, or swimming in the Sound.
