Lys Gant

Watershed Stewardship Coordinator

agant@savethesound.org

Lys Gant is a member of Save the Sound’s Ecological Restoration team as their Watershed Stewardship Coordinator. Lys will be working with various community members and stakeholders on Green Infrastructure Projects, primarily those within the Farm, Mill, Pequannock, Quinnipiac,  and West River Watersheds.

Lys comes to Save the Sound with a background in food justice and sustainability organizations, where they worked closely with agricultural producers, small businesses, and community members to fight for a just and equitable food system on both a local and state-wide level. They are excited to come back to their roots “play in the dirt” and use their experience in working with community members on Save the Sound’s Green Infrastructure Projects, while they work to target locations where people are most affected by environmental injustice.

Lys is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University and holds a B.A. in Geography and they are starting a MS in Coastal Resilience this year. Lys and their husband reside in Hamden with their toddler and pets. They very much enjoy gardening, hiking, kayaking, learning about new plants and insects, and travelling all over the world.
