Emily coordinates Save the Sound’s water quality monitoring field operations, on the water and in the watershed, for the pathogen indicator bacteria monitoring and Unified Water Study. She is responsible for quality control and assurance of field data collected by Save the Sound and our partners. Additionally, Emily is the primary boat operator for the Water Quality team.

Emily grew up in the Capital Region of New York State and graduated with a B.S. and M.S. of Biology from Oneonta State University (SUNY Oneonta). She spent her undergraduate time researching at the Fish Parasitology Lab of SUNY Oneonta’s Biological Field Station in Cooperstown, NY. Her master’s thesis work was completed on freshwater pearly mussels and SCUBA based research in tributaries of the Susquehanna River and its headwaters, Otsego Lake.

During her free time, Emily enjoys SCUBA diving, skiing, and gardening.
