Laura directs the organization’s marketing, media relations, web and social media, and grassroots advocacy communications, working closely with a team of talented specialists.

She first joined Save the Sound as a volunteer in 2007, and soon came on board to assist in building coalitions, producing reports, and empowering people to help shape environmental policy. She unified the organization’s communications and outreach functions in 2013, and added marketing to the role’s portfolio in 2021.

She holds a B.A. in English from Wesleyan University and previously worked at Cheney & Company, a design and marketing firm in New Haven; and at the Valley Conservation Council, a river and farmland protection organization in Virginia. She was a managing editor of Armchair/Shotgun literary magazine for six years.

Laura lives in New Haven, where she enjoys embodying millennial tropes by spending time on her podcast, her cat, and her large collection of succulents.
