Volunteers Needed
Every year, Ben & Jerry’s celebrates Free Cone Day in April, where customers get complimentary ice cream. However, it’s not just about enjoying sweet treats; it’s also a day dedicated to activism and community engagement.
Ben & Jerry’s New Haven Ice Cream Shop will be partnering with Save the Sound for a fun-filled day of scooping ice cream and fundraising. All donations received at the door will directly support our work to protect and preserve the Long Island Sound region. Invite your friends and family!

Free Cone Day is on Tuesday, April 16, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Who
Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. However, 16 years or older is preferred. For volunteers under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign the Volunteer Consent Form.
Number of Volunteers Needed
We’re looking for 15 to 25 volunteers for the day. Volunteers will come in groups of 4 to 6, and each group will commit to a 2-hour time period.
Slot 1: 11am-2pm (FILLED)
Slot 2: 2pm-4pm (FILLED
Slot 3: 4pm-6pm (2-4 volunteers needed)
Slot 4: 6pm-8pm (4-6 volunteers needed)
Expectations
You’ll be trained to scoop with the Ben & Jerry’s staff behind the counter. Save the Sound will have a table set up to collect donations and share about our work.
