Rock to Rock: Launch Party

Sunday, March 22 from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.
Tunnel on the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail Tunnel, New Haven, CT

Join the Save the Sound team at the Launch Party for the 18th Annual Rock to Rock Earth Day Ride! Enjoy live music, guest speakers, food, and drinks while learning about 18 local nonprofits protecting our environment. Vote for your favorite t-shirt designs and celebrate the start of our spring fundraising season.

The 90-minute party is at the new 400-foot illuminated tunnel on the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail in downtown New Haven (Phase IV), with the main entrance near Grove Street.

Submit your t-shirt design by March 13 and register for the bike rides or walks today. Early bird registration ends after the launch! Rides and walks are on Saturday, April 25. Support Save the Sound and help protect the Long Island Sound and local waterways.


Westchester Soccer Club Sustainability Night

Westchester Soccer Club, Westchester County’s professional soccer team, has invited Save the Sound to take part in its inaugural Sustainability Night. Join us as Westchester SC faces Sarasota Paradise at 7:00 p.m. Every ticket purchased through the Save the Sound link will generate a $10 donation to support our work for clean water and healthy ecosystems. Be sure to select seats in Sections 1 and 2 to cheer alongside Save the Sound staff and supporters.

Rock to Rock: Celebrate Earth Day with a Ride or Hike

East Rock Park, New Haven, CT

Join Save the Sound for Rock to Rock, a fun group ride or hike supporting local environmental causes. Choose from bike routes of 5, 12, 20, 40, or 68 miles, a kids’ 1-mile loop, or a group hike at East or West Rock. Afterward, enjoy live music, food trucks, and a Green Fair with local environmental organizations. Fundraise with our Water Cycle team to help protect the Sound, its rivers, and local lands.


Save the Sound’s Beach Grades: A Deep Dive

Every year, Save the Sound issues data-driven grades for water quality at 200+ public and private beaches around Long Island Sound. Join Peter Linderoth, our director of healthy waters and lands, for a deep dive into the latest Beach Grades, based on data collected during the 2025 swimming season. Learn how wet weather, stormwater runoff, and other factors affect water quality at individual beaches, and how to leverage the Beach Grades to improve water quality at your favorite local beach.
