In this member webinar, Save the Sound’s Connecticut policy team will give you a behind-the-scenes look at our 2026 legislative priorities and what you can do to help. Have your questions answered and leave with concrete actions you can take to participate effectively in this year’s legislative session.  

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A.


Hutchinson River Watershed Plan Phase II Kickoff Meeting

February 25, 2026 from 2:00 PM or 6:00 PM

Protecting the Hutchinson River requires a coordinated, watershed-wide approach. This event introduces Phase II of the Hutchinson River Watershed Plan, which will expand planning from Westchester County into the Bronx to create one comprehensive plan for the entire watershed. Participants will learn about the river’s current water quality challenges, the goals of the planning process, and the role of the Hutchinson River Watershed Steering Committee. Steering Committee members will help guide the planning process by reviewing draft materials, representing stakeholder perspectives, and supporting community engagement. Meetings will be held every other month beginning in February 2026, with work continuing through 2027 and a final watershed plan anticipated in October 2027.

Kinneytown Dam Removal – March 2026 Community Meeting

Monday, March 9 at 6:00 PM

Join Save the Sound and the Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments on March 9 at 6:00pm for our next community meeting about the Kinneytown Dam Removal project. You are welcome to join us in-person at the Ansonia Senior Center (second floor of the police station) at 65 Main Street, or virtually on Zoom. This meeting is family-friendly, and children over the age of 3 are welcome to join us — if you intend to bring children, please register at least two weeks in advance and indicate as much in your registration. Light refreshments will be provided.

Rock to Rock: Celebrate Earth Day with a Ride or Hike

Saturday, April 25, 2026
East Rock Park, New Haven, CT

Join Save the Sound for Rock to Rock, a fun group ride or hike supporting local environmental causes. Choose from bike routes of 5, 12, 20, 40, or 68 miles, a kids’ 1-mile loop, or a group hike at East or West Rock. Afterward, enjoy live music, food trucks, and a Green Fair with local environmental organizations. Fundraise with our Water Cycle team to help protect the Sound, its rivers, and local lands.
