On the first Friday of every month, Save the Sound and CitySeed host a Friday Food Fest. In preparation for this event, we are looking for volunteers to help clean up the site and get it ready for the Food Fest.

Join us for a morning of hands-on stewardship and learning. Volunteer at a community cleanup in Eastchester, or head to the Bronx to meet the team from Save the Sound’s Doherty Climate & Resilience Institute, then join a guided Pugsley Creek site walk to learn about coastal resilience and our oyster reef restoration work in New York City.
Policy Solutions for a Plastic-Free Sound

Paddle for the Sound

Grab your paddle and hit the water for 10 days of paddling to protect and improve Long Island Sound. Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or just getting started, this friendly kayak, stand-up paddleboard, and canoe fundraiser welcomes all skill levels.

Community Meeting: Building Job Skills and Stewardship in Fair Haven

Save the Sound, EMERGE CT, and Junta for Progressive Action are teaming up to engage Fair Haven area community members in a three-part community meeting series as part our ongoing efforts to help urban, coastal community members and high school students build green job skills while stewarding the Haven & Exchange parklet. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Save the Sound hosts cleanups across Connecticut as part of the International Coastal Cleanup. Join us in helping clean up beaches, rivers, parks, and other natural spaces across the state. Don’t see a cleanup in your area? Become a Cleanup Captain, and we’ll provide you with the supplies you need to organize your own.

Offshore Wind: Coast to Coast Screening & Panel Discussion

Join Sierra Club Connecticut, the National Wildlife Federation, and Save the Sound for a webinar screening of the short film Coast to Coast and a Q+A. Earlier this year, Revolution Wind started delivering power to Connecticut. Once complete, this clean, reliable, and affordable energy project will provide enough power to run 350,000 homes across Rhode Island and Connecticut. Offshore wind is already showing up for Connecticut – join our expert panel to hear more about how offshore wind benefits Connecticut ratepayers and learn how offshore wind can be developed responsibly for wildlife and communities. Drew Nemetz will take on one of the world’s toughest endurance challenges: a 21-mile swim across the English Channel this October. Inspired by a lifelong connection to the water and a passion for protecting Long Island Sound, Drew is dedicating his swim to support Save the Sound’s work to keep our waters clean, healthy, and accessible for future generations.
